Givenchy Spring/Summer 1972 Haute Couture
This Givenchy haute couture jacket is a stunning example of his early-seventies aesthetic. With a bold and almost three-dimensional print, this piece exemplifies his expertise in clean and simple lines, combined with beautiful and luxurious textiles. With a couture number dating it to 1972, the fabric pattern of this jacket was created by Abraham Ltd. and was also used on a dress from the same Spring/Summer Collection.
This beautiful jacket is fully lined in black silk, with two fabric covered buttons and hand-bound button holes. This piece retains its original Givenchy label and handwritten bolduc, as well as a seperate numbered tape - suggesting it was perhaps once part of a museum or private collection.

Condition:
Very Good.
The fabric of this jacket is still as bold and vibrant as the day it was made. There are a few small areas on the exterior of the jacket where some of the threads in the fabric weave have pulled (see photos), however with the busyness of the print they are hardly noticeable. The jacket lining is all still intact, with the tiniest marks at the underarm - the fabric itself, however, shows no signs of damage at the underarm.
